This week, our class spoke via SKYPE with 4th grade students in Australia – twice! There were two different classes of 4th graders who exchanged names, hobbies and mentioned something special about themselves.

As a prelude to this on-line meeting, our kangas had to bear in mind the etiquette that comes with being in the public eye. They had prepared their keynotes on cards, remained focused, spoke clearly, faced the screen – all ways of modelling appropriate behaviour.

Our students discovered that many of the boys played cricket, loved minecraft and enjoyed table tennis (ping-pong). We hope that we can continue chatting with our friends. Perhaps next time, we’ll talk about the books we love to read.
