Students have been inquiring and exploring what geometry is all about.  We’ve had

discussions about 2D and 3D shapes.  After reading the story “The Greedy Triangle,”

(see the links below) students created their  polygons using geoboards and rubber bands.

Students were quite creative with the pentagons, hexagons and heptagons they made.

They  had to count the sides and angles to match them up with the right name.  They were

especially  challenged  with making  decagons and dodecagons!
