As we inquire into how to express ourselves creatively through writing, we wondered about the different forms of writing/literature. We got some new books for our classroom library and this was our task:

Imagine you are a team of librarians in charge of sorting and labeling the classroom books.

How would you organize them?

What labels/categories would you use?

Who is your audience?

Some of the categories we came up with were: fiction, non-fiction, mystery books, chapter/series books, animal books, weather books. We thought that inquiring into how the CMC categorizes their books might help us out so we went up to investigate. We discovered even more categories like graphic novels, foreign language picture books and even a library classification chart! We’re now wondering what the chart is all about:-)
