Have you ever found that you need to show a YouTube video but for whatever reason you’d like to be able to play it from your computer? Well, there is a way…
Go to YouTube and find the video you need. Copy the exact URL from the address bar. Then, go to www.mediaconverter.org and enter the YouTube URL in the texbox under the first step of the conversion wizard. (Note that it is also possible at this step to upload audio or video files from your computer and convert them to different file types.)
The next step will be to select which file type you wish to convert to. If you only want the audio, it is possible to convert a YouTube video to an audio file such as MP3, but if want video, mpg is a file type that is supported by most programs (including Windows Movie Maker and Microsoft PowerPoint).
The next step, additional options, says it’s for advanced users only. You will not normally need to change anything here, so just click the Next button again.
The site will now automatically upload the file and then convert it for you. Depending on the the size of the file, the bandwidth and how busy the site is, you may have to wait ten minutes - sometimes longer - but eventually, it will be finished and will give you a hyperlink that says “Download it now”.
Right-click the hyperlink and select Save Target As… and save it to your computer.
